If you haven’t yet got to grips with Climate Emergency UK‘s Council Climate Scorecards or you’re wondering how to use them, we can help. We held a knowledge sharing session with Annie Pickering of CEUK on 27 February in which she talked us through the scorecards and offered tips on how best to use them in campaigning and engaging with local councils
CEUK have scored every council in the country on the actions they have taken to address the climate crisis. Using a detailed scoring system, the assessment involved up to 91 different questions, depending on the council type, across seven major subject areas from buildings to biodiversity. The results provide a rich resource both for holding councils to account and focusing minds on what still needs to be done.
You can watch a video recording of the session on our YouTube channel here.
SECA also published this blog analysing the results in our region. They are decidedly mixed, and spotlight which councils have made most progress and which are lagging behind.
